Why You Should Grow Cutting Flowers in 2023

It's true, you should really grow cutting flowers and I'm about to tell you why.

Virtually no space required. One thing that seems to hold a lot of people back from growing flowers is a concern for space, but even if you live in an apartment you can still have fresh cut flowers every week. Many cut flowers do well in pots or crates and can be set out on balconies or porches.

Getting more time outside. Having a garden naturally leads to more time spent outdoors. This can be such a grounding experience. There is something so serene about being able to step away from screens and be outside working in the garden.

You're helping the environment. Growing flowers is great for soil quality, reduces carbon dioxide, and helps out the pollinators such as bees and butterflies.

Being able to give family and friends flowers. The simple act of giving someone flowers can make their day. It's also a good feeling to be able to give.

It feels good to grow. Growing your own flowers just feels good. It's amazing to see the first bloom of the year and think "wow, I made that happen" and is such a great way to feel connected to the world and also gain appreciation for it.

What are some reasons you're going to grow cut flowers this year?
